Blackie Spit Park is an amazing City Park located in the Crescent Beach neighborhood of South Surrey. The park is named after the city of Mud Bay at the mouth of the Nicome River. Blackie Spit has stunning views on Mud Bay and the North Shore Mountains.
Blackie Spit offers the absolute best fowl watching territories in Canada, with right around 200 types of winged creatures recorded in a schedule year. The sandy spit, encompassed by tidal bog and eelgrass beds, is a significant stop for moving and wintering waterfowl and shorebirds, as they advance to the coastline of North and South America. Fall transients begin touching base in late August and September. Spring transients begin touching base in mid-March, and are commonly passed before the part of the arrangement.
